Smith’s 2016 book of the same name.īut Jordan has so much more going on in addition to being our generation’s rom-com king. The 28-year-old husband and father has been in showbiz for years, and his acting chops and boyish charm (and the fact that he can shave off a decade just by shaving his face) make him a perfectly cast YA heartthrob-including as Aidan in Netflix’s newest rom-com Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between, which is based off Jennifer E. It’s not always wholly satisfying, but it’s also not sad either. You’ll have to forgive Jordan Fisher if he fooled you into thinking he’s still a teenager. However, sometimes these can be the best kind of stories because it’s that open end quality that allows you to imagine. Some may not like the way this concludes as it’s not any set ending. Jordan Fisher is more of a practiced pro at playing young adult heroes, and Talia Ryder has been in films like the West Side Story re-make. There’s lots of sweet moments between our leads and since they carry much of the film, emotionally, they do a good job. The cast is pretty good too and overall, everyone does a nice job with their characters. Usually, I’m not a fan of back-and-forth stories, but because I did have fond memories of this novel, I think I do enjoy how this unfolds. But throughout the latter section, we do go back into certain ‘hello’ sections and expand as Clare reflects on their romance during their “firsts” revisits during their relationship. After their meeting, the film rushes through the months to the ‘goodbye’ set up. The film immediately puts us into romance through the ‘hello’ portion of the film. But also they are teenagers so you have to give some leeway there. If I was to get more serious about this story, I would question Clare and Aidan (starting something with an expiration date). At least not in my memory (I read it years ago), but it’s still sweet and one of the better streaming romances I’ve seen recently. The film isn’t quite as memorable as the novel. And this is the only book I’ve read by Smith, but it’s also one I have fond memories of.

Smith, this film is one of three films that Smith is set to have writing credit on. From the novel of the same name, by Jennifer E.
